Following the preliminary state of groundwater knowledge, the University of Montreal, in collaboration with McGill University, produced a report that provides an overview of groundwater concepts specific to the northern environment, such as permafrost, a review of legislation and guidelines on groundwater quality in other northern jurisdictions and details about the tools and approaches available for groundwater investigation in the North. This report will help to develop groundwater monitoring programs to support learning plans within our bilateral agreements with Alberta, British Columbia and Yukon.
